How to print sticker, photo, and label sheets at actual size

1. Set your image’s printed size

Open a PNG, JPG, or WebP in the sheet maker. Enter the width and height you want on paper in millimeters, centimeters, or inches. Keep the aspect ratio locked to avoid stretching your design. A transparent PNG works well for artwork that should not have a rectangular background.

Pixel dimensions and print dimensions are different. For example, a 600 × 600 pixel image printed at 2 × 2 inches has an effective resolution of 300 DPI. Printing that same image at 4 × 4 inches lowers it to 150 DPI. FitToSheet shows a resolution warning when the source may look soft at the selected size; start with a larger source image or print it smaller if needed.

2. Match the paper size to your printer

Select the size of the paper you will load into your printer. Portrait and landscape change the grid, so try both orientations to see how many copies fit.

Full-sheet sticker paper lets you cut out the repeated designs yourself. Use paper compatible with your printer. Pre-cut label sheets require the grid to match each label’s position; FitToSheet does not provide brand-specific label templates.

3. Leave space for margins and cutting

Page margins reserve space around the sheet. Horizontal and vertical gaps leave space between copies. Start with the default 10 mm margin and 4 mm gaps, then adjust after a test print. The preview updates the copy count as you make changes.

Optional cutting guides sit outside the design grid and mark rectangular design boundaries. They are omitted on sides without enough room. The dashed page-margin outline appears only in the preview. These guides are for manual trimming and do not create contour-cut paths for a cutting machine.

4. Download the PDF and print at 100%

1. Download the PDF and open it in a PDF viewer.
2. Choose the same paper size and orientation in your printer settings.
3. Select Actual size or 100% scale. Turn off Fit to page, Shrink oversized pages, and automatic scaling.
4. Print one sheet on plain paper. Measure the width and height of a design with a ruler.
5. Check the edge copies and cutting guides before loading your sticker paper for a batch.

FitToSheet puts your chosen physical dimensions into the PDF. Printer settings, paper feed, and non-printable margins can still change or clip the physical output. The measured test sheet is your check that the settings work with your printer.

5. Troubleshoot your printed sheet

Everything prints too small or too large

Recheck the PDF viewer’s scale and the printer driver’s scaling options. Confirm that both use the selected paper size. US Legal is 14 inches long; Regional Legal is 13 inches long, so choose the matching dimensions in your printer settings. Some borderless modes enlarge the page; check that setting too.

The edge designs are clipped

Increase the page margin to keep artwork inside your printer’s printable area. Scaling the entire page to fit also changes the size of each design, so adjust the layout and export a new PDF.

The artwork looks blurry

Use the original high-resolution image instead of a screenshot or a compressed copy. Check the resolution indicator at your chosen print size. Increasing the pixel count of an already blurry image does not restore missing detail.

No copies fit on the page

Reduce the printed design size or margins, or switch orientation. FitToSheet keeps your requested dimensions and explains when a design cannot fit; it does not silently shrink your artwork.
